License activation in the case of no internet access from the server.

If the standard activation procedure is giving you trouble as the server is not connected to the internet, there is a simple workaround to do the activation. An internet connection on another pc is required for this workaround.

  • From the Pilot Dashboard click Setup and Yes to Modify the License.
  • Uncheck the Demo license check box and type (paste please!) your License code into the entry box. Click OK.
  • From the next screen shown below copy the two URLs to a text file using Notepad. Save the file and using another computer with internet access paste the first URL into a browser. This will bring you to the registration page.
  • Enter your registration information and click OK. This will bring you to a confirmation page.
  • Paste the second URL from above into the browser. This URL will produce the License download dialog.
  • Save this XML file. It needs to be copied to the server in the folder: C:\Program Files\Pilot or C:\Program Files\AFI, depending upon your version of Pilot. Once this file is on the server, reopen the Pilot Dashboard and your license will be activated.
