Delete oldest recordings (FIFO)
For correct behavior of the FIFO process (delete oldest recordings) it's necessary to know how much video data will be generated on the hard disk in 5 minutes.

You should specify the preferred hard disk space (Management column>storage>storage volume) as large as this value (or larger)

For example:

1 camera generates 1,5MB/sec

A 30 camera system will generate approximately 13,5 GB in 5 minutes

You should define the preferred hard disk space as 14 GB or higher above minimum hard disk space. Here you should also keep in mind that your system might need space for using the swap file.

The minimum difference between 'minimum- and preferred disk space' should be at leas 15GB.
Standard settings are 1GB minimum and 16GB preferred. The system will warn you when you try to make an incorrect setting. It will disallow you to make that setting.

Use the system calculator to calculate the difference between minimum and preferred free space.
